Dance Toward A Cure For Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

Hosted by sixth grader Charlotte Friefeld of Lenox, MA, the Dance Toward a Cure raised $1,700 for DMD research!! Charlotte and her family made all the arrangements, from decorating the community center with Charley's Fund balloons to setting up a sales table for tanks, tees, and other Charley's Fund merchandise. Kids and adults rocked it out to the dj's tunes and munched on goodies courtesy of the kids in the Charley Club at Berkshire Country Day Schools. Thank you to Charlotte and all her friends for pulling off this great night.

Nearly 100 guests filled the stunning Boston Harbor Hotel for dinner and a private screening of Darius Goes West. Fueled by a matching grant from an anonymous West Coast donor, the post-film auction was so lively the auctioneer could barely keep up with the raised hands! Karen and Ted Philip deserve many thanks for their superb planning of this successful event and for their extreme generosity. Thanks to all assembled (and the matching grant), we exceeded our fundraising goal to raise $90,000 that night.

This black-tie/red dress gala marked our biggest fundraiser yet. Hosts Diane and Mickey Gooch opened up their beautiful home to Charley's Fund, and helped us raise $250,000. The fabulous "Tree of Love" was one of the evening's highlights. Every leaf purchased revealed a surprise gift. Charley's Fund supporter Nick Brown hosted a fantastic auction, including dream getaways to Costa Rica, Lake Placid, Canyon Ranch Spa, and Sun Valley. Many thanks to Betsy Seckler and the rest of the benefit committee who put together this unforgettable night.
